St. Joseph Blue Shield Reach Deal On PPO HMO
St. Joseph Health System, which operates Memorial Hospital and Petaluma Valley Hospital, has reached a tentative agreement on continuation of Blue Shield health coverage.
Officials of St. Joseph announced late Friday that a verbal agreement on a 14-month contract had been concluded and that remaining details would be worked out next week.
The tentative agreement allows patients with Blue Shield health insurance to continue using the hospitals in Santa Rosa and Petaluma with no interruption in coverage. The agreement applies to about 4,600 patients enrolled in the Blue Shield HMO program, as well as those in the PPO network.
Even though the previous agreement between the hospital organization and the health insurance expired on Thursday, St. Joseph officials said Blue Shield patients would not incur any additional charges.
